About WebP files

WebP is the format many websites use to save space. If you saved an image from a site and your editor, printer or upload form won’t take it, it’s probably WebP.

How to convert WebP to JPG

  1. Drop your WebP on the box above, or click it to choose it.
  2. Click “→ JPG”.
  3. Your file downloads. MunchFiles checks that the result opens correctly before it hands it to you.

What to expect

Opens anywhere; smallest for photos.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. MunchFiles converts files inside your web browser, on your own device. The file is never sent to a server, so nobody else can see it.

Is it free?

Yes. Basic file conversions are free, with no account and no watermark. MunchFiles Pro is an optional one-time purchase (no subscription) that keeps a copy of MunchFiles on your device, working offline, with power tools for batches, shrinking images and PDF pages.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas become white. Choose PNG instead if you need to keep it.

How big can the file be?

MunchFiles has no upload limit, because nothing is uploaded. The only limit is what your browser can draw: images up to about 268 megapixels (or 32,767 pixels on a side).
